Campus Safety - VHHS
Overview: The Campus Safety staff is responsible to ensure the safety and security of the staff and students in the high schools.
Reports to: Campus Safety Coordinator
Assistant Principal for Operations
Employee Status: Educational Support Professional - Campus Safety
ESP Bargaining Union
Calendar: 184 Teacher Attendance Days, 1:30pm - 10:00pm
Qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with Google G-Suite, office and phone equipment
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor the safety and security of the students in the building and on campus
- Implements school safety and security activities
- Ensures that school policies and procedures are followed
- Assists with the monitoring of student movement and behavior throughout the school day
- Assists with the control of disruptive students and teams with appropriate school personnel about student behavior and behavior related issues
- Escorts and assists students to assigned areas
- Works with first responders in regard to security and safety
