Job Description: Special Education Teacher - Leave of Absence Substitute

 

Assignment: 1.0 FTE

 

Reports to: Department Co-Chairpersons

 

Qualifications:

*Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License)

*Endorsed in LBS1

 

Calendar: Available immediately, open through end of the 2023-2024 school year 

 

Personal Attributes:

*Attend Team Meetings and IEP meetings on assigned students as case manager

*Develop and implement individual education plans for identified students as the case manager and meet all mandated deadlines

*Collaborate in the completion of functional assessments to create behavioral intervention plans for students on caseload

*Develop and implement instructional opportunities, monitor for IEP goal progress and educational needs, provide special education services, as well as engage in the school community, in ways that support of the beliefs and commitments of the

 

D128 Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy for every student, community member and staff member in our schools and district

? Demonstrate strong writing skills to complete all required components of student’s special education related documents

? Complete written goal progress updates and annual goal progress in writing as required throughout school year and in compliance with all professional timelines

? Assists teachers when necessary to support the inclusion of students with disabilities into the school community

? Direct and support educational support personnel/teacher assistants assigned to your designated classes and/or students in your classes or on you caseload in collaboration with the department co-supervisors, including the provision of constructive feedback as requested

? Serve as a member of multi-disciplinary teams in student assessment, placement, and progress review

? Demonstrate high standard of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality in all interactions with students, colleagues, parents and community-members at all times

? Collaborate with colleagues, parents and other providers in order to share information and expertise to plan and implement effective functional programming

? Perform other duties as assigned

 

Compensation:

Long term substitution rate
